Register for Absa KH3-7 Hills
Absa Bank Uganda gave out UGX 300 million collected from the 2024 Absa KH3 - 7 Hills Run to support girls' education and tackle high dropout rates, which affect over 1.2 million learners in Uganda. The event, in partnership with Kampala Hash House Harriers (KH3), aimed to address issues like poverty, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, and menstrual hygiene, all of which contribute to girls leaving school early.
The funds were distributed across several organisations: UGX 50 million to the Joshua Cheptegei Foundation for bursaries, UGX 50 million to Baylor College’s DREAMS program, and UGX 30 million to Amref Health Africa for menstrual hygiene support. Additionally, UGX 60 million was allocated for bicycles to help girls in rural areas attend school, and UGX 90 million went to World Vision to improve menstrual hygiene in Karamoja, benefiting thousands of girls.
Registration fee is UGX 35,000. This includes a T-shirt, bottle, visor cap, and string bag.

How to Prepare for the Absa Run
Pre-run
Prepare for success by sticking to a consistent training plan tailored to your race distance. Focus on building your stamina with a mix of short and long runs, and include rest days for recovery. In the final week before the race, prioritize rest and good nutrition, with a focus on carbs for energy. Stay hydrated and avoid any new gear or routines on race day—stick to what you've tested during training.
Race day
Arrive early to soak in the excitement and ensure you have time to warm up and mentally prepare. Stretch and get your body moving with light jogging or dynamic exercises to prevent injury. Don’t forget to hydrate before the race, and be mindful of your pacing—start steady and conserve energy for the final push. Most importantly, enjoy the experience, celebrate the atmosphere, and push yourself towards the finish line.

Post-run
After crossing the finish line, take time to cool down and stretch to help your muscles recover. Rehydrate with water or an electrolyte drink, and refuel with a balanced snack, focusing on protein and carbs. Reflect on your journey and the hard work you’ve put in—every step was a victory. Share your accomplishments with fellow runners, take in the post-race celebration, and be proud of the achievement, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro.
The Kampala Hash House Harriers (KH3)
KH3 is a lively running group that brings together fitness, fun, and socialising every Monday evening. The group meets between 5:00 PM and 5:58 PM, with the run or walk starting promptly at 6:00 PM.

Each week, the route begins from a different pub, restaurant, or hotel across Kampala, lasting about an hour. Along the way, participants enjoy stops for drinks, some lighthearted silliness, and a chance to mingle. The evening wraps up with dinner at the starting venue. It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people, and unwind after the workday.
