Step-by-step help guides for the Absa Banking App
  • How to register (new user)

    1. Download Absa Uganda Mobile App via Google Play Store or Apple store
    2.  Open the App on your device
    3. Click register(extreme top right)
    4. Enter your details and click next
    5. Enter bank details and click next
    6. You receive an OTP via SMS
    7. Enter the OTP 
    8. Create an online banking username
    9. Create an online banking password
    10. You will see a confirmation screen 
  • How to request a statement

    1. Open the Absa Uganda Mobile App on your device
    2. Login
    3. Tap the account whose transaction history you want to view
    4. The account's transaction history will be displayed
    5. You can filter the transactions by date/amount range
  • How to locate a branch or ATM

    1. Open the Absa Uganda Mobile App on your device
    2. Click on the 3 bars at the extreme top left
    3. Select ATM & Branch Locator                                                                                                                           
    4. Select either ATM or Branch
    5. The ATM/branch locations are displayed                                                     
    6. You can also use the Search option to narrow down the ATM/Branch search
  • How to enable fingerprint log in

    1. Open the Absa Uganda Mobile App on your device
    2. Login
    3. Select the 'More' option on the bottom right of the screen
    4. Go to Settings
    5. Select "Enable Fingerprint"
    6. You are prompted to place your Finger on your phone's fingerprint sensor. Note:Fingerprint Log in must already be enabled on your phone before you can enable it on the Absa Mobile Banking app
    7. After placing your finger on your phone fingerprint sensor, a notification is displayed letting you know that biometric login has been successfully enabled
    8. To disable Fingerprint log in, go to Settings and uncheck the option "Enable Fingerprint Login"
  • How to buy airtime

    1. Open the Absa Uganda Mobile App on your device
    2. Login
    3. Click on More
    4. Select "Beneficiaries"
    5. Select Add new beneficiary 
    6. Select Buy Airtime
    7. Input the mobile number, network operator  and beneficiary nick name
    8. Review and input the OTP to confirm and save recipient
  • How to buy electricity

    1. Open the Absa Uganda Mobile App on your device
    2. Login
    3. Select 3 lines at the top left of the screen
    4. Select Manage Recipients
    5. Select Add new recipient
    6. Select Buy Airtime
    7. Select Network operator (Mascom/Orange/Bemobile)
    8. Input cell number and recipient nickname
    9. Review and save recipient

  • How to pay for DSTV

    1. Open the Absa Uganda Mobile App on your device
    2. Login
    3. Select the 3 lines at the top left of the screen
    4. Select Manage Recipients
    5. Select Add new recipient
    6. Select Bill Payment
    7. Select Television Subscription as bill type
    8. Select Multichoice - DSTV
    9. Enter smart card number and recipient nickname
    10. Select next
    11. Select save
    12. Enter and confirm OTP
    13. You will see a confirmation screen

  • How to do an Absa to Absa transfer

    1. Open the Absa Tanzania Mobile App on your device
    2. Login
    3. Select the 3 lines at the top left of the screen
    4. Select Manage Recipients
    5. Select Add new recipient
    6. Select Domestic Absa Account
    7. Enter branch name, account number, account holders name and recipient nickname
    8. Select next
    9. Review and save
    10. Enter OTP and comfirm
    11. You will see a confirmation screen
